Country information
The Republic of Guinea is located in West Africa on the Atlantic coast. The country covers an area of almost 246.000 square kilometers. Conakry, the capital city, is divided into five communes: Kaloum, Dixinn, Matam, Ratoma and Matoto. These five communes in turn are divided into a number of quarters. To the North Guinea borders on Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Mali, Ivory Coast to the East and Liberia and Sierra Leone to the South. Guinea has a population of approximately 9,9 million and is made up of differing ethnic groups. The most numerous ethnic groups are Peul (40%), Malinke (30%) and Soussou (20%).
Partner organization
3A Entreprises (3AE)
On arrival in Guinea MBT provides reintegration support through its partner organization Caritas Ghana. Upon arrival the client receives a financial contribution. This sum is not given in cash but is spent under supervision of the partner organization on providing the means necessary for building a sustainable future in Guinea.
In Guinea MBT works together with the consultancy organization 3AE (Agence Autonome d'assistance Intégrée aux Entreprises). The object of 3AE is to set up and develop medium sized and small businesses in Guinea. 3AE can offer returning Guineans the following support: up-to-date country information; training and assistance in setting up income generating activities. They can also offer support in writing and evaluating business plans. In addition they can bring returnees into contact with moneylenders. Although they are not able to pick people up from the airport or provide housing they can direct them to medical and psychosocial relief organizations.
