Country information

Ghana is located in West Africa between the Ivory Coast and Togo and to the South of Burkina Faso. To the South of Ghana lies the Gulf of Guinea. The capital of Ghana is Accra. Agriculture is the mainstay of Ghana’s economy (35-45% of GNP). Coco, gold and wood are the most important export products. Ghana has approximately 21.2 million inhabitants. 

Partner organization

Caritas Ghana

On arrival in Ghana MBT provides reintegration support through its partner organization Caritas Ghana. Upon arrival the client receives a financial contribution. This sum is not given in cash but is spent under supervision of the partner organization on providing the means necessary for building a sustainable future in Ghana.

In Ghana MBT works together with Caritas Ghana. Caritas Ghana operates from offices in Accra. Caritas Ghana is focused on emergency relief and rehabilitation, social and medical support and community based projects. Caritas Georgia also offers returnees individualized economic and social support. This includes initial reception, support in finding employment or establishing their own business and assistance in accessing education. In addition returnees can be referred to specialized healthcare services.
