Country information
Georgia lies in the Southern Caucasus and borders on the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. To the West of Georgia lies the Black Sea; the Caucasus mountains are located to the North. The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi. Abkhazia and South Ossetia are both semi autonomous regions within Georgia. Georgia has a population of approximately 4,4 million, excluding the inhabitants of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Georgian is the official language and is spoken by 71% of the population. In Georgia there is a significant disparity between the income of the richest 10% and the rest of the population.

Partner organization
On arrival in Georgia MBT provides reintegration support through its partner organization. Upon arrival the client receives a financial contribution. This sum is not given in cash but is spent under supervision of the partner organization on providing the means necessary for building a sustainable future in Georgia.
In Georgia MBT works together with Caritas Georgia which is located in Tbilisi. Caritas Georgia is focused on emergency relief and rehabilitation, social and medical support and community based projects. Caritas Georgia also offers returnees individualized economic and social support. This includes initial reception, support in finding employment or establishing their own business and assistance in accessing education. In addition returnees can be referred to a specialized healthcare organization.
